Quick Update on Store Progress

Hello freinds,

I have really missed getting to write you all here in the blog every day.  We have many projects that I'm looking forward to posting.  Sadly, I have no time to post them.  I have been working very hard on the store.  I plan to hopefully go live Monday, but it will be several days after that before I can add many products at all.

When the store goes live the address will be just like it always has been.  However, if you want an early sneak peak at what is going on behind the scenes while we get it ready you can always visit  I would love your feedback.  I want to make our new store better then ever.

There is one last thing I really wanted to do in this post.

Thank You Renee!!!!

I got the prize I won on her blog yesterday.  The stamps are beautiful and I can't want to make more first project with them.  They have lots of room to color on them.  The other stamp set and tiny tags came is a complete suprise to me.  I had forgotten I won anything except the stamp set.

I can't wait to finish the store so I can blog everyday again.

Until then  Happy Scrapbooking Everyone!

Our Webstore is Moving!

our store is moving are moving
Thanks mbtrama of flicker for the photo
I announced a few days ago on our facebook page that we were looking for a new host to keep our store on.

It seems like just yesterday that we packed up our bags and moved the store to izzonet.  Unfortunately, izzonet has told us they are likely going out of business.

We have already asked for our izzonet store to be shut down.  It will happen very soon.  However, we should be open again with basic items within a week.  If you have any questions about anything at all please feel free to ask us here or email us anytime at
I'm excited about the move.  It's going to be months of work but the store should hopefully be better then ever when I am done.  I will let you know more when all the details are finalized.

Scrapbook Brad Storage

Scrapbooking and storage go hand and hand.  It seems we are all in a never ending quest for the next storage idea that will solve all our needs.

The other day Susy came up with an idea.  She said to me, brads often come displayed in flat packaging.  Why couldn't they be stored that way?

It was a valid question and she quickly came up with this flat brad storage solution.

The folded paper keeps the brads from scratching each other and the tabs make it easy to find the brad you are looking for.

Making this brad storage solution is very easy.

Cut a 12x12 paper down to 5 x 3/4 by 12.
Cut the file tab into the paper with Tim Holtz Alterations File Tab On The Edge Dies

Fold the paper in half.

Count your brads so you can properly space your brads on the top half of the paper.  Then use a paper piercer to poke holes in your paper and add your brads.

How to Make a Paper Spring

Yesterday I showed you an Easter card I made for my mom that had paper springs in it.  I've been making paper springs since I was a little kid. They're great for cards because they can be put inside to add dimension, but will flatten when the card is shut.  This makes paper springs a better choice for cards then pop dots.  I hope that you find this video helpful helpful.

Handmade Easter Card

I made this Easter Card for my mother.  I wanted it to have a more adult look then the other Easter cards I've shown you over the past few days.

The front side has a flower that I stamped and fussy cut out.  It also has bunny rabbit that I stamped directly on the card.  The Hippity Hop Easter title was cut out of the same scrapbook paper that I cut all the Easter eggs on the other cards out of.

The inside has an inked paper that reads, "We tried but an Easter egg wouldn't fit in this card.  So instead all we can do is send our love."

I made the heart pop up using an old school kid craft project.  I did it that way instead of with pop dots because I wanted the card to be able to close flat and pop up high.

Tomorrow I will make a video showing how to make these paper springs in case any of you do not already know.

Have a great day and happy scrapbooking.

Owl Easter Card

Owl Easter Card
I really like this Easter Card and I'm sure my sister will fall in love with it.  My sister is a huge fan of owls so I wanted owls to be a part of her Easter card.

To make the card I stamped a mother owl and and a branch with 3 baby owls on it.  I colored the stamps with markers and colored pencils and then fussy cut them out.

The eggs were cut out of the same scrapbook paper that I cut the eggs out of for the Rock On Easter layout.

The tree that the mother owl is standing on is made using a cloud punch.  I outlined the cloud punches with a white colored pencil.

Finally, after arranging it all on my card and gluing it down I stitched around the edges.

The inside of the card reads,

"Once upon a Time...

There lived a Mother owl named Kim and her three little owlets Ben, Tyler, and Bella.  Kim was very worried because she knew the time was coming.  The time of great hunt.  When she must let her little ones out of the next to scour the surrounding lands for an allusive prey.  This prey comes in the form of mysterious colored eggs filled with candy that appear every year on Easter.  Were her owlets ready for the hunt.  Would they find all these "Easter" eggs?  She knew as all mothers do that only time would give her that answer, but deep down Kim knew her owlets would be just fine."

Tomorrow I will show you an Easter Card I made for my mother.

Princess Easter Card

Princess Easter Card

I made this for my niece Bella who thinks of herself is a princess.

For the actual card I took a light pink 12x12 paper with flowers on it.  I folded the paper in half and glued it to it's self.  I then folded the paper in half again and cut it down to 6 x 5 1/2.

Next, I stretched ribbon across the white paper with the flowers on it.  I folded the ribbon behind the paper and attached it with brads.

Then I glued that paper to my card.

After that, I took a 4 1/4 inch pink circle paper and stamped an Easter Egg border around it's edge.  I attached it to the white flower paper with pop dots.

There was a small gap between two of the stamps on this circle.  I stamped a large Easter egg and put it over the gap in the stamped border using pop ups.

Finally, I stamped a castle, colored it with colored pencils, and fussy cut it out.  I also added it to the pink circle with pop dots.

The inside of the card has a princess carriage that I also colored and fussy cut out.  The text reads, "A princess finds her eggs in style.  Happy Easter Bella we love you very much."

I hope you enjoyed this card.  Tomorrow I will show an Easter card I made for my sister.

Robot Easter Card

I made this Easter card for my nephew.  He is both a robot and music fan so I wanted to make both those things a part of this card.

I stamped the robot, guitar, and boom box.  Then I colored them with colored pencils and fussy cut them out.  I drew the banner by hand and also cut it out.  The Easter Eggs that I put on the banner were cut out of a Easter scrapbook paper.

There are pop ups under the Easter Eggs, banner, and robot.

I'm a novice at making projects compared with Susy.  Susy didn't actually like any of the cards I made that I'm going to show you over the next few days, but I like them despite their imperfections.  I hope you enjoy looking at them or that they inspire you to create your own Easter cards.

Scotch ATG Decoration

Susy came up with the idea to decorate our Scotch ATC by putting washi tape on the paper inside.  She then cut the washi tape to match the shape of the paper.  It's an easy project, that can spruce up your glider.

P.S.  I've been very busy lately and haven't had time to post.  However, I will be making many new post over the coming days including some Easter cards I made.

Mini Scrapbook of Our Cat Pookie

Our cat Pookie is a big part of our lives.  We found him at only a few days old.  His mom had been killed and poor little Pookie hadn't eaten for 2 days.  I don't know how he survived.  His eyes hadn't opened yet and he could barely move at all.  We took him home and nursed him back to health.

A few weeks  back we were looking at all our old pictures of Pookie is a kitten and thought we should really make a mini book of him is a baby.  You may notice that the pages have not yet been tied together.  We thought it would be easier to film/photograph the pages before tying them.  Those of you who read our blog regularly know that Susy and I both dislike our handwriting hence the pictures were taken before we journaled.

Play wonder laugh has a picture of my mom at the Japanese Gardens with us.  She actually climbed into the bushes because she wanted this pictures.

Susy made the layout.  I was happy to see that she stamped the little girl on it.  I think that slowly but surely I'm getting her to love stamping like I do.  We even got several new stamps this past weekend for ourselves.

Susy made this layout.  It has a lot of cool bits to it.

I really like all the washi tape that she put at the bottom and the top of the layout.  The hot air balloon has inkssentials crackle accents on it.  The little wood numbers are the ages of the people in the photos.

Guess the Scrapbook Brand Game

A few days ago I made a blog post with pictures and asked you to guess what brand I was talking about for a prize.  It was a lot of fun and we even had a winner.

This video was made is a simple fun game.  However, I have taken it down because I do not want to upset any scrapbook brands.

I hope you enjoy the new pictures in this video.  Best of luck to you!

Our 2012 Scrapbook Part 1

Our 2012 scrapbook is huge.  It's going to be 3 scrapbooks in all.  Today I'm posting the first scrapbook.  I'll post the 2nd tomorrow and the 3rd isn't yet finished.  That doesn't count our unfinished scrapbook from my Moms and Sisters visit this past summer.  There is a lot of scrapbooking ahead in our future.  I hope these layouts give you some inspiration for your scrapbook projects.
