Prima - Celebrate Jack and Jill Collection Stamps

I love these Prima Celebrate Jack and Jill Collection Stamps.  I was a little afraid that coloring a stamp of a person less than 3 inches tall might be beyond my skill set, but this little girl was so cute I had to buy her all the same.

I know I did simple shading on the girl, but I'm very happy with how she turned out.

If I was afraid of coloring the little girl, I was terrified of coloring the rabbit.  I mean how do you shade something that is white?  I tried adding shadows to the rabbit with a Copic E000 marker (pale fruit pink) and left everything else not colored at all.  I loved the result.  I no longer have to fear buying mostly white stamps.

I can't wait to make an Easter card with these stamps.  Yes I know it's a very long time until Easter, but that kind of thing has never stopped me from making a card.

Have a wonderful scrappy day!

Beautiful Prima Doll Stamp

Prima doll stamp

Over the last couple of days I've shared many different Prima doll stamps with you.  I saved the best one for last.  I love how this young woman turned out.  She looks ready to go out to a party.

I used the usual colors BG000, BG01, BG05, and BG15 on her dress and headband.  For the shoes and dark blue part of the dress I used BG05.  For the rest of the dress I used the other blues.  On the skin I used E000, E00, and E11.  The hair I was colored with a brown Spectrum noir maker.  The outlining was done with a Pigma micron 03 pen.

This is the last prima doll stamp that I'm going to do for at least a few days.  If you want to see all my other prima doll creations just click on that link.

The prima dolls may be gone for now, but the stamping fun isn't over.  I have a few more fun stamps to show to you.

Until then, have a wonderful scrappy day!

Prima Doll Stamp of Little Girl

I really like how this prima doll stamp turned out.  I'm a big fan of the way the blue and green parts of her outfit look together.

For the blues on her dress I used copic makers BG000,BG01, BG05, and BG15.  For the greens on her dress and shoes I used copic makers G05 and G09.  For her skin I used E000, E00, and E11.

I outlined many lines on this stamp with a Pigma Micron 03 .35mm pen.  Personally I like the way that darker hand drawn lines look.  Susy on the other hand thinks I ruin all my stamps when I always add my outlining.  So I realize that the outline step like all other artistic things is very much a matter of personal preference.

I hope you like the end result of this stamp as much as I do.  It's one of my favorite stamps that I've done recently.  If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.

Intruducing our Latest Sponsor BlueMoonScrapbooking

Blue Moon ScrapbookingWhen I went looking for sponsors I found the photography site relatively quickly.  However, I wanted to look around at all the options very carefully before picking a scrapbook store to share on the blog.

After considering a few different companies I ended up going with BlueMoonScrapbooking

I really like that they have the free shipping at $50 and have always admired the look of their store.

I will be back with more fun post tomorrow.  I just wanted to use today to introduce BlueMoom although I would be shocked if 90% of the people who read this blog hadn't at least been to their site in the past.

Prima Doll Stamp

I really like how this prima doll stamp turned out.  I can't wait for the chance to actually use her on a project.

There are a few mistakes, but I feel like I get better with every stamp.  Besides I really enjoy making them and in the end that's all that matters.  Now I just have to find a way to use my stamped creations.

Supplies Used:

Paper used: Neenah Paper

For the skin I used Copic markers E000, E00, and E11.

For the dress I used Copic marker BG000, BG01, BG05, BG15.  It's important to note here that I only used BG05 on the ruffle and boots.  I find it mixes very badly with the other  3 blue makers.  BG05 is what messed up my dress in yesterdays post.

On the hair I used spectrum noir brown.

Last, but not least I used a Pigma Micron 03 pen to outline most of the lines on the stamp after coloring it.

New Prima Doll Stamps

prima doll stamp
Recently Susy and I purchased several new Prima Doll Stamps that I hadn't gotten the chance to color yet.  I was not going to let the fact that I do not have current use for the stamps stop me from playing with them. I stamped each one and plan to share them with you over the coming days.

I'm starting my show and tell with this beautiful stamp of a woman in her ball gown.

free large stamp block solution
In a previous post I showed you how easy it is to use a ruler to make a free large stamp block.  In fact, we use a ruler for all our prima doll stamps becasue they do not fit on our traditional stamp blocks.   However, this doll is so big she did not fit on a ruler!  When I'm shopping for scrapbook supplies I seldom stop to think of questions like how will I actually use this stamp.  Luckily in this case I just put two rulers side by side for a truly massive 15x6 inch stamp block.

I really like this stamp, but did not do it justice.  Perhaps I'm to hard on myself but if you look at the bottom left panel of her gown you will notice that the blues are different than the other panels.  I picked up a wrong maker when on that section of the dress.  That mistake glares at me every time I look at my finished doll.

I do really like how the blue and green go together.  It wasn't to long ago that I got my 2 green Copic makers so I'm sure you will see many more green items in my stamped creations instead of stickily blue creations.

On a side note my birthday is coming up on October 12.  I asked Susy for some more Copics.  I'm thinking browns, purples, and maybe a 3rd green, but I'll have to wait and see what she picks out.

Have a wonderfully scrappy day!

Susy made this very "cool" layout of me at Universal Studios Orlando.  We are a fairly frequent visitors to both Universal and Disney I often see people who can not find locations in the park becasue they are well kind of hidden.  For example in this picture I'm actually posing in front of the rest rooms.  That's right the bathrooms are inside the door titled "Gothham Ice Company".  Things like this do make the parks look more cute and also make them a bit more confusing.  However, I wouldn't be posing in front of a big sign that said "Restrooms this way" so I can't really complain.

Free Photo Tips eBook

Now that the blog is no longer related to our store I decided to look for a few sponsors.  The first sponsor I've added to the blog is this free eBook on taking pictures.  In the near future I plan to also add a well known online scrapbook store that I'll reveal later.

https://ianplantdreamscapes.refersion.com/c/09a3
For now back to the eBook.  I chose this eBook company for one of our sponsors for a few reasons.  First off, I didn't want to recommend any product I didn't personally believe in.  Most sponsors refuse to let you see the product.  In the case of this eBook was able to read the entire book yesterday.  I have no doubt I will read it again in the future.  I felt the book was well written with simple advice and great pictures.  Plus it's 44 pages long so actually gives lots of good advice.  Often I feel tricked into getting eBooks when I find out they are very short and don't tell me anything that I did not already know.  That was not the case with this book.  The 2nd and equally important part of this eBook is it's FREE!  I find it hard to go wrong with free items.

So if like me you are always trying to take that perfect picture to add to your scrapbooks this link is worth clicking on.

side note: in case you are wondering they don't pay me a dime for recommending you go check out this free book.  I'm only paid in the event that anyone likes this book so much that they buy one of the books that the company sells.  PS the free eBook has a coupon code at the bottom of the last page

Today I have a new NYC layout to share with all my scrappy friends.  Susy made this beautiful layout of the ending of our NYC adventure to get Cronuts.  Susy and I had read online how good Cronuts were and wanted to try them.  We looked up subway directions and took 2 different subways followed by a several block walk thru Soho so that we could try the famous Cronut we had read so much about.

Cronuts story

I'll let Susy's journaling continue the story.  "We went looking for Cronunts but they were sold out.  So the next best thing.....at feast: almond croissants, cake and eclairs.  Long trip, but totally worth it.  We had a delicious meal."  If you go looking for Cronunts show up early because they sell out fast.

I love all the layers that Susy put in this layout and that she included some journalling.

Back to the Future Scrapbook Layout

steampunk Back to the Future scrapbook layout

Susy made this Back to the Future scrapbook layout of the the train and car from the movies.  We took them at Universal Studios Orlando.  The layout has a cool steampunk feel with various metal embellishments without going overboard.

It's a cool layout of pictures we took close to a year ago now.  However, what strikes me most when I see this layout is how much weight Susy has lost in that year.  When we took these pictures she was a tight size 20 and now shes a loose size 14 and hoping to be a 12 very soon.  I'm proud of her!  I've also lost some weight (15 pounds) since I got a job that has me walking all day instead of sitting at a computer, but doubt I would have the will power to do what shes done.

owl post is just one of those little details in the Harry Potter area of Universal Studios that most people just walk past, but both Susy and I thought it was just too cute and stopped to take a few pictures.

I think Susy did a great job on this layout.  It doesn't have a ton of scrappy elements, but the ones that are their just seem to blend together perfectly with the theme and photos.
